We’re Hiring: Blockchain Technical Lead (Fintech / Neobank)

About the Role
Osambit is looking for an experienced Blockchain Technical Lead to lead engineering efforts for a greenfield fintech / neobank platform being built from scratch.
You will work closely with Principal Engineers and Architects, who define technical direction and high-level architecture, while you focus on team execution, engineering quality, sprint delivery, and technical leadership of day-to-day development activities.
This role combines hands-on engineering, people leadership, and delivery coordination in a technically demanding fintech environment.
What You’ll Do
- Lead a cross-functional engineering team building a neobank / fintech platform
- Coordinate daily engineering execution and ensure delivery goals are met
- Conduct code reviews, enforce engineering standards, and maintain code quality
- Lead sprint planning, backlog refinement, estimations, retrospectives, and technical discussions
- Mentor developers and support technical growth within the team
- Ensure implementation quality, maintainability, scalability, and adherence to best practices
- Collaborate with product owners, QA, DevOps, and architects to align delivery expectations
- Participate hands-on in development when required, especially for complex implementation areas
Requirements
- 7+ years of Java engineering experience in software development
- 3+ years of fintech / banking / payments experience (required)
- Proven experience leading engineering teams or serving as Technical Lead / Architect
- Strong experience with Java ecosystem (Spring framework) and enterprise backend systems
- Familiarity with EVM/Solana/Hyperledger or other permissioned blockchain systems
- Hands-on experience with:
- Docker and Kubernetes (K8S)
- On-premise and/or cloud infrastructure providers
- Observability and monitoring tools (New Relic, ELK Stack, Grafana/Loki)
- Understanding of distributed systems, fault tolerance, scalability, and secure system design
- Strong knowledge of software architecture styles and patterns (microservices, modular monoliths, event-driven systems, CQRS, etc.)
- Deep understanding of engineering principles, design patterns, and clean architecture practices
- Understanding of software delivery methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Kanban, SDLC practices)
- Spoken and written English for technical communication and leadership
Nice to Have
- Experience with neobank, payments, card issuing, banking, or financial systems
- Experience with message brokers and asynchronous systems such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or other MQ technologies
- Experience in security-sensitive or regulated environments
- Exposure to cloud or hybrid infrastructure environments
- Experience working in startup or greenfield product environments
