- Practical experience training, validating, and evaluating ML models for time-series, financial, or signal-based problems
- Strong knowledge of backtesting methodology: avoiding look-ahead bias and data leakage, transaction-cost modeling, walk-forward validation, performance metrics, and robustness testing
- Advanced Python skills for data analysis, research, and production-quality ML workflows
- Hands-on experience with common ML and data tools, such as:NumPy, pandas, SciPy, scikit-learn
- PyTorch and/or TensorFlow/Keras
- XGBoost, LightGBM, CatBoost
- Jupyter, MLflow or Weights & Biases
- SQL and data-processing tools such as Polars, Dask, or PySpark
- Experience designing reproducible research pipelines, feature engineering, experiment tracking, and model evaluation
- Ability to estimate research and delivery effort, identify dependencies and risks, and create a conscious ML roadmap from hypothesis to production deployment
- Strong analytical mindset, ownership, and ability to communicate complex research findings clearly
Nice to Have
- Knowledge of cryptocurrency markets, exchanges, and market data
- Hands-on experience with crypto trading, including exchange APIs, order execution, and trading-system constraints
- Experience building or integrating automated trading systems
- AWS experience, including data, compute, storage, and ML services
- Infrastructure-as-code experience with Terraform
- Production monitoring and observability experience with Datadog or New Relic
- Experience with Docker, CI/CD, and cloud-based deployment workflows
- Knowledge of streaming and event-driven systems, such as Kafka, Redis, or message queues
- Familiarity with quantitative research, statistical arbitrage, market-making, or high-frequency trading concepts
