Users began with 5,000 SprinkleBucks for simulated stock trading and could access 22 free education chapters. An 8 person delivery team built native iOS/Android apps, social investing features, portfolio analytics and premium market tools. The VPI (Value Prediction Index) on SprinkleBit is a proprietary crowdsourced scoring algorithm that ranks both stocks and investors on a scale from 0 to 100
New investors needed a way to learn investing without risking capital; experienced investors wanted portfolio metrics and a place to exchange ideas. The product had to unite market data, PnL analytics, simulation and social interaction.
The platform had to support market-data portfolios, simulated trades, PnL calculations, posts, feeds, friendships and chat across native apps. It also needed scalable, observable cloud services for social and financial-data experiences.
We built SprinkleBit as a social investing simulator. Native iOS and Android apps, with JavaScript/Angular web experiences, let users create virtual portfolios, practise trades with real-market context, track PnL and analyse stocks. Profiles, posts, feeds, friends and instant chat turn individual research into shared investing conversations. Java / Node.JS services run in Docker and Kubernetes on AWS, while ELK Stack centralises logs and operations. The result combines financial education, portfolio analytics and crowdsourced investor insight in a risk-free environment for learning by doing.
As of 2025 - platform is discontinued or inactive for standard retail customer access.
