Problem

New investors needed an easier route into U.S. securities trading: mobile account opening, fast deposit access, portfolio information and stock orders. The product also had to connect investing with education and social discovery.

Constraints

A retail brokerage must protect personal and financial data while delivering reliable mobile and web experiences. The team had to support onboarding, bank deposits, stock orders and margin features in a cloud-native, observable architecture.

Solution Overview

We maintained and evolved SprinkleBrokerage as a mobile-first investing platform for retail investors.

Its published native iOS and Android apps paired a social-media-inspired interface with account onboarding, bank funding, portfolio views and U.S. stock trading.

A Java/Spring backend ran in Docker and Kubernetes on AWS, with JavaScript/Angular interfaces supporting customer journeys. ELK Stack logging gave support teams visibility across account, funding and trading flows.

The result combined approachable investing journeys with the release discipline, operational controls and reliability required for a live financial-services product.

As of 2025 - platform is discontinued or inactive for standard retail customer access.
